What did you enjoy most about your ASLF experience?
I enjoyed the genuine friendships and mentorships that formed during our time at the conference! They always mentioned “reverse friendship” where the icebreaker questions were not the easy answers and “fun facts,” but rather questions about what makes you different and what impact you want to have on the world. I was intimidated by that at first but it lead to such sweet moments with some of the best people!
What long term impact on your leadership skills do you see from your time at ASLF?
I think that ASLF really showed me that people are out there everyday living for Christ, being a lifetime learner, and leading in humanity. Sometimes that feels like such an overwhelming and almost impossible task in the world we live in today, but ASLF proves that people are out there leading every day and having an impact beyond what they could have possibly imagined! My mindset about leadership skills and my perspective of being a strong, Christ-centered leader has been forever changed.
What do you wish you had know before attending ASLF?
I wish I had known to prepare for how hard it is the leave the conference. You will feel so full, and your cup overflowing with the goodness and experience you’ve been able to enjoy during the conference that it will be hard to leave!
Now that you're in the marketplace, what does it mean to you to be a servant leader?
Being a servant leader means to step up and into the roles that no one even recognize need to be filled. Lead others with love and compassion that can guide them in uncertainty and encourage them through trials. But most of all, lead through a humble gratitude that you are in a position where you can serve others and help them achieve their best.
